Crispy Baked Sausage Pizza Dumplings

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ package round wonton wrappers (about 27-30)
  • ½ lb loose sweet italian sausage, browned
  • ⅓ cup pizza sauce
  • ⅓ cup finely shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tbsp finely grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Brush a large baking sheet with oil (use less than half of it!).
  2. Top each wonton wrapper with a little Italian sausage, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. Hint: don't fill the wonton wrapper more than ¼ full.
  3. Fold the wonton wrapper into a half-moon, and press firmly to seal. Then, working your way down one side of the wonton, gently fold one layer of the wrapper, forming a pleat. Press firmly to seal. Continue, creating pleats first down one side of the half moon and then the other, until sealed. Place on the prepared baking sheet, and continue until all the wontons have been filled.
  4. Brush the wontons with the remaining oil.
  5. Bake for 7-8 minutes, then flip the dumplings and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. The wonton will be golden brown when done.
